I would like to introduce you to EA-Land, a world that is free-to-play, and based on a re-engineered The Sims Online architecture. Well, that is no longer the issue (unfortunately it is 5 years to late, but better late than never). It was actually pretty fun, but the lack of any custom content and the fact that you have to pay monthly killed it quick.
I remember playing TSO back when they had their 14 day trial when it was released. This is an unofficial project, not endorsed by EA nor BeyondSims. A community-made project, called FreeSO, has since been released which brings back The Sims Online experience with added extras such as 3D mode.
PLEASE NOTE: The Sims Online/EA-Land was retired on August 1st 2008.
